Simple Syrups for Summer Cocktails

Nothing says summer like a cold drink on a hot day. Our simple syrup recipes can be used in cocktails, iced tea, lemonade and in popsicles for summertime sweetness.

Orange Vanilla Simple Syrup

This is a great syrup to add to sparkling water, gin & tonic, vodka martinis, iced green tea, or to sweeten up homemade popsicles like these from Jessica Gavin.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Pour water into a small saucepan.

  2. Add sugar, orange peel, cinnamon stick, balsamic and vanilla.

  3. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute (all sugar should be dissolved).

  4. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 1 hours.

  5. Strain syrup into a glass jar, discarding orange peels and cinnamon sticks.

  6. Keep simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Recipe Notes

This will make approximately 1 cup of simple syrup.  


Cranberry-Pear Simple Syrup

Add to vodka, gin and rum based drinks, or add a kick to lemonade and iced tea.

  2. Add sugar, cranberries, pear, and balsamic.

  3. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute (all sugar should be dissolved).

  4. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 1 hours.

  5. Strain syrup into a glass jar, discarding cranberries and pear.

  6. Keep simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Recipe Notes

This will make approximately 1 cup of simple syrup.  


Blackberry-Ginger Simple Syrup

Add to martinis, bourbon, gin and rum based drinks, or add a kick to lemonade and iced tea.

  2. Add sugar, blackberries, ginger, and balsamic.

  3. Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute (all sugar should be dissolved).

  4. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 1 hours.

  5. Strain syrup into a glass jar, discarding berries and ginger.

  6. Keep simple syrup in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
